Number 8

What the charity does

Number 8 is a Community Arts Centre inspired and led by the people of Pershore. It provides a programme of film, live events, event cinema, creative workshops and exhibitions, and offers facilities for community classes and groups. Opened in 2004 it is governed by a Board of Trustees and managed by an Executive Team which includes two senior employees, supported by approximately 200 volunteers.

Charitable objects

(a) To promote, maintain, improve, and advance education for the benefit of the inhabitants of pershore and surrounding villages and neighbourhood (hereinafter called "the area of benefit") without distinction, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.(b) To establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects.
