Highfields Community Association

What the charity does

HCA traditionally provided a wide range of lifelong learning/community development services (adult learning/early years/children & young people) & through the new Highfields Centre, it provides a wide range of arts/sports/advice services. Since 1/12/10, Highfields Centre has acquired independence, with the transfer of the building and all of its staff & services from Leicester City Council to HCA.

Charitable objects

1)to provide and assist in the provision of facilities and services for recreational, sporting or other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare, such facilities being provided for persons who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity, disability, financial hardship or social circumstances may have need of special facilities and services; and/or2) to advance the education and lifelong learning of the public in the area of benefit; and/or30 to promote and preserve good health through community participation in healthy recreation; and/or4) such other charitable purposes which are beneficial to the area of benefit and consistent with the above objects as the board shall in their absolute discretion determine.

Area of benefit: The City of Leicester, with a Primary Focus on the Highfields Area of That City
