What the charity does

We support asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants in the North East of England to lead lives that are safe, independent and fulfilled, by providing supported accommodation and free English language and employment classes. Our ?Skills for Life? English language classes are delivered from our classrooms in Newcastle and Sunderland, as well as in other centres through our community partnerships.

Charitable objects

The objects for which the company is established for the public benefit are:3.1 the prevention and/or relief of poverty by the provision of advice andassistance, training and the provision of housing and accommodation forpersons in need of such provisions and the improvement of housing andliving conditions for such persons;3.2 the advancement of education for the public benefit;3.3 the relief of those in need by reason of their youth, age, ill health,disability, financial hardship or social disadvantage, particularly personssuffering or recovering from substance abuse, eating disorders,prostitution or persons in similar situations; and3.4 the promotion of human rights (as set out in the universal declaration ofhuman rights and subsequent united nations conventions anddeclarations) throughout the world by relieving need among the victimsof human rights abuse.
