What the charity does

Deafinitions was established for deaf people BY deaf people. Our motto is "Empower, Explain, Educate" in that by providing visual, accessible information and opportunities for involvement with clear, grassroots explanations, deaf people become better educated about important issues in their lives; such as health, employment, financial issues, etc.; and be empowered to make more informed choices.

Charitable objects

To relieve deaf people (especially british sign language users) and to advance their education and the education of the public in particular but not limited to the following:(a) Improving deaf people's access to information by producing and providing custom-made resources for the deaf community;(b) Educating and enabling deaf people by ensuring resources, workshops and opportunities always include fluent british sign language, visual examples, quality graphics and detailed glossary of relevant terms; and(c) By advocating with deaf people to improve awareness and understanding among statutory and private service providers about deaf people's access and understanding needs.
