What the charity does

Religious Activities

Charitable objects

To advance the traditional Jewish faith.in furtherance of the above but not further or otherwise the trustees shall have power to do all or any of the following;(a) To conduct divine services in accordance with the rite of eastern jewry(b) To provide for the religious needs of the members of the synagogue and to establish and maintain such institutions as may be required for this purpose in accordance with traditional Jewish law(c) To maintain a talmud torah for children and youth(d) Generally to foster the practice and spirit of traditional judaism(e) To acquire, hold and, if necessary, sell property, real and personal, for the purpose of fostering and promoting the above objects(f) To raise funds in the form of membership subscription sale of privileges endowments and gifts or by any other lawful means (other than by commercial means) for the attainment of the above objects or any of them(g) To do all such other things (consistent with the charitable character of the synagogue) as will further the attainment of the above objects provided always that the activities shall be carried on in accordance with the principles of traditional Jewish law as laid down in the shulchan arukh and its commentaries and no activity in violation of these principles shall be permissible and provided further that if any doubt shall arise as to the permissibility of any activity such doubt shall be referred to a recognised rabbinical authority.
