Charitable objects
The objects of the cio are for the public benefit, to advance human rights (as set out in the universal declaration of human rights and subsequent united nations conventions and declarations & the european convention on human rights) in the jurisdictions of the council of europe for individuals who identify as lgbtq+, in particular but not exclusively by:(a) Researching and providing legal advice on lgbtq+ rights;(b) Monitoring abuses of lgbtq+ rights by liaising with charities to track political developments; and(c) Promoting the protection of lgbtq+ rights by assisting in and undertaking legal advocacy.for the purposes of this clause, 'lgbtq+' means lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning, and those who are socially excluded on the grounds of their gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.
