Charitable objects

The object[s] of the cio [is][are] to advance the education of the public in sustainable development and environmental protection by carrying out research and sharing knowledge on climate change, environmental challenges, and sustainable practices. In furtherance of this object, the charity may: a) conduct research into climate change, the environment, and sustainable development, including the impacts on vulnerable and disadvantaged communities; b) work with communities, charities, academic institutions, and public authorities to develop and improve understanding of environmental issues; c) develop evidence-based guidance, tools, and recommendations to support environmental protection and sustainable practices; and d) disseminate the useful results of such research to the public through publications, workshops, and other educational activities. Sustainable development means “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
